App- Connection Finder

Connection Finder

After working in a consumer electronics store for a decade, one of the most common questions I get is, “Which cable do I use to connect my devices to my receiver?”.

I’ve thought of an app that would solve this problem by making most audio and video devices indexable.

The user could launch the app and be taken to a screen to search for their device model number (this is typically the hardest part- recalling or searching for the model number).

The app would query a database or the web and pull information regarding the particular device, i.e. a TV, receiver, Blu-ray player, DVD player, disc changer, LP player or game console.

The user would then add the device to their library. After multiple devices have been entered, the the app could then recommend possible cable connections to interlink the devices for a particular task.

The device library is saved for future reference as well as the recommended cable list for easy shopping.
